A Strong Protest Against Eutelsat
French TV Broadcasting Company Suppresss Voice of Freedom and Democracy

As of April 15, Eutelsat, a French TV broadcasting company, will not be extending its contract with New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) and will stop broadcasting NTDTV's signal to Asia due to financial benefits and political pressure from the Chinese Communist Party.(CCP)

The Federation for a Democratic China has expressed surprise and anger at Eutelsat for suppressing a voice of freedom and democracy.

The dictatorship of the CCP is established on violence and deception. Under this dictatorship, there is absolutely no freedom of media in China. The news, entertainment and cultural programs broadcast by NTDTV were able to break through the CCP's media blockade and control and were warmly welcomed by the Chinese people.

NTDTV is a guiding light for people in China and overseas Chinese who are exploring freedom and democracy. This guiding light, for the first time in history, sends out the illumination and voice of freedom and democracy. It encourages Chinese people with ethics and willpower to constantly strive for freedom and democracy, and facilitates the peaceful transition of China from a dictatorship and one party rule to a democratic society.

NTDTV does not promote violence or racial discrimination. It complies with the French TV broadcasting regulations. NTDTV strictly abides by Eutelsat's business rules: It pays its fees on time, provides programs with healthy content and facilitates free communication.

With all these facts, why does Eutelsat want to stop broadcasting NTDTV's programs?

The explanation from Eutelsat TV Broadcasting Co. is that the decision was based on the principles of "variety of programs" and "business operations." It especially mentioned that it's decision to not renew the NTDTV contract is not related to pressure from the Chinese government. Focusing on China in its explanation is one more indication that Eutelsat, in order to gain additional financial benefit, has kowtowed to political wishes from the CCP regime and that it has left behind the principles of free media.

In December 2004, Eutelsat TV Broadcasting Co. signed a contract with the Weitong Group, which is closely involved with China's Department of Media Productions. The Weitong Group signed a contract with Eutelsat with special instructions from the CCP.

Using financial benefits as an incentive, it has effectively bribed Eutelsat to comply with the CCP and stop broadcasting NTDTV's programs.

The CCP regime controls all the resources in China. In order to maintain its rule, the CCP has been selling off the resources of China and the hard work of the Chinese people without any concern of the future. Eutelsat has received great benefits in return for cooperating with the CCP. It therefore sells out righteousness for the sake of benefits, helping an evil specter commit crimes and suppress the communication of freedom and democracy.

The Chinese people will remember forever the disgraceful behavior of Eutelsat in defending a dictatorship and suppressing the voice of democracy.

The corrupt regime of the CCP will soon end. In the future, the democratic government of China will definitely expose the nature of the contract between the CCP and Eutelsat.
