Before 1949, articles published by the Communist Party encouraged people to subvert or overthrow the Nationalist Government (KMT). At that time, the Communist Party approved the people’s revolt against the KMT, and disregarded the chaos caused by war and subversion of the government. Ten million soldiers of both the Nationalist and Communist government died in five years during the civil war, while hundreds and thousands of homes were destroyed, which was the result of the Communist Party revolting against the Nationalist government. They did not care about the turmoil, but merely wanted "to pound the old society to pieces.”

After 53 years of propaganda from the Nationalist government, the Communist Party finally was able to overthrow the KMT and save the country. However, history has proven that subversion of state power does not mean overthrowing the country. The truth is, a country can’t be overthrown, but only a government. Regardless of who is in power, in the end this huge country must exist for people to survive. China will not disappear when political parties change and the 1.3 billion people who live in China will live life as usual after a government has been overthrown.

From the Shang Dynasty to Jiang, Zhou, Qin, Han, Jin, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing, Nationalist Government, to the People's Republic of China, it is difficult to determine how many governments were overthrown, but China still exists, and history has clearly proven that subversion of state power does not mean the subversion of the country.

There are many examples that prove that subversion of state power and the country itself are not related. In the United States, for example, the political party leadership changes often. The most recent example was when democratic president, Clinton, left office and incoming republican President, Bush, assumed control. The government’s party leadership changed, but the U.S still exists. Many country’s governments including: England, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, South Korea and Israel are constantly changing so it is possible to change or “overthrow” a government, however since the people remain the same, it not possible to overthrow a country.

The main reason for the Communist Party’s success in summoning the people to overthrow the KMT was that the government was corrupt and lost the approval of the people. But what about today’s Communist Party? People’s disdain for our current government is twice or more than twice than it was for the Nationalist Party, since the Communist Party is not beholden to democratic principals and clearly does not benefit the people.

People appealing to the government, such as unemployed workers, become the Communist Party’s opposition. The Communist Party is far worst than the Nationalist Party and it is not an overstatement to say that all officials are corrupt. It has lost popularity with the people and although it may not be worse than the Nationalist party, it will never be better than the Nationalist party, right? If you don’t believe me, conduct a public opinion survey. The government does not represent justice for the people.

The Chinese Communist Party’s use of violence to subvert the Nationalist government was legal; therefore, we have the legal right to overthrow this government. Democratic countries also encourage us to become a modern, civilized government and eliminate the barbaric dictatorial government. It’s possible to use peaceful methods to change the government.
