My Brother-in-Law Received a Falun Gong Practitioner's Liver Back

By Wenlong
May 10, 2007

KOREA-On the morning of May 2, 2007, a Korean man from Jilin Province told the reporter that at the end of 2006, his brother-in-law suffered from a serious liver disease. He received a Falun Gong practitioner's liver, and his brother-in-law died seven days later.

A man in his 50s came to see the Falun Gong display in front of the Immigration Bureau in Seoul disclosing the Chinese Communist Regime's selling of illegally taken live organs. He said, "I know it's true. I didn't believe that live organ removal was real before, but now I totally do because it happened in my family."

This man, who refused to disclose his name, said he went to China to his mother-in-law's funeral at the end of 2006. His brother-in-law suffered from a serious liver disease and needed a liver transplant. They went to a hospital in Beijing and paid over US$65,000.

Soon thereafter they received a liver from a Falun Gong practitioner. The doctor transplanted this liver into his brother-in-law. The practitioner died soon after and his brother-in-law only lived seven days. The hospital told this man about the source of the liver. He refused to disclose information about the hospital.

We Knew About This Way Before You Did

After the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) illegal harvesting of organs from live Falun Gong practitioners was exposed in March 2006, it received much international attention. Previously, few had heard of live organ harvesting because it happened secretly inside of concentration camps and forced labor camps. However, it wasn't totally unheard of.

Thee reporter met three people from China in front of the Immigration Bureau in Seoul. After they read materials on the CCP's live organ harvesting, they whispered to the reporter, "We knew this was before you did!" and left in a hurry. A taxi driver from Shenyang City also said the locals all knew about the live organ harvesting and it wasn't anything new.

Independent Report Confirms Forced Organ Harvesting

Former Canadian Secretary of State David Kilgour (Asia-Pacific region) and human rights lawyer David Matas published their first report on July 6, 2006, that proved that live organ removal in China is true. On January 31, 2007, they published their second report to supplement the first one and almost doubled the documentation of evidence.

Their updated report mentioned the involvement of Chinese military hospitals and gave evidence implicating the General Hospital of the Armed Police Forces. The military hospitals make a profit from organ sales. Some patients who went to civilian hospitals for organ transplantation were treated by military surgeons. Back

Over One Tenth of China's Arable Land Is Contaminated Back

Central News Agency
May 09, 2007

According to the Chinese Ministry of Land and Resources, more than one tenth of the farmland in China is contaminated and approximately 12 million tons of grain produced each year contain heavy metals, resulting in losses of more than 20 billion yuan (US$2.5 billion).

Xinhua news , the CCP news agency, reported on April 22 that about 150 million mu (about 25 million acres) of farmland is contaminated. An additional 32.5 million mu (about 5 million acres) of farmland is watered by contaminated water, and about 2 million mu (about 330,000 acres) of farmland is covered with solid waste. This adds up to more than one tenth of the total arable land in China.

The Ministry of Land and Resources reported that soil pollution causes significant damage to the Chinese economy and to society. According to estimates, approximately 12 million tons of grain are contaminated by heavy metals each year, causing more than 20 billion yuan in losses. Soil contamination cause toxins to accumulate in produce, which can cause all kinds of diseases once consumed by human beings.

Authorities in the Ministry of Land and Resources said that in order to improve the soil contamination situation, China State Environmental Protection Administration and Ministry of Land and Resources should jointly initiate a "Nationwide Land Survey and Pollution Prevention" project. The Ministries are planning to spend 1 billion yuan (approximately US$127 million) over three and half years to systematically survey the soil contamination. The project will include research to help develop soil-contamination evaluation and monitoring standards and research to develop soil-contamination prevention strategies and policies.

Minister for Land and Resources, Mr. Sun Shengwen said that in recent years the Chinese economy has developed quickly, which has dramatically increased the demand for natural resources. The exploitation of natural resources has severely damaged the environment.

In order to mitigate the soil contamination problem, Mr. Sun Shengwen said China needs to conserve land and mineral resources, improve relevant laws and regulations, strengthen policies to manage resources better, and help people become aware of, and take responsibility for, improving the situation. Chinese TV Programming Replaced With Anti-Regime Slogans Back

CHINA—On May 1, many satellite TV channel programs in Guangzhou City had been replaced on some channels, and even displayed pictures and slogans against the communist regime. Many mainland media reported the incident, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan media. Mainland media avoided reporting the content.

According to a Southern Metropolitan News report from May 2, between 8:00 pm to 8:40 pm on the evening of May 1, the newspaper received dozens of cable TV viewer reports that the TV program had been replaced. The news report has been reprinted by at least 42 media on the mainland, but none of these media reported the content.

As of May 5, all major media in China have removed these news reports, including the Southern Metropolitan News's, and major Internet news outlets Netease, Soho, People's Net, Sina, etc.

According to Hong Kong's South China Morning Post report, besides Guangdong Province, similar incidents also occurred on TV stations in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Suzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Tianjin and other stations.

Familiar Slogans
Taiwan's Central News Agency reported that people from Guangdong Province also saw slogans such as "Overthrow the Chinese Communist Party," "Opposing One Party Dictatorship," etc. Currently, over 21 million Chinese have announced their withdrawals from the Chinese communist party and its affiliated organizations through the internet. The communist regime is doing its best to block this information from spreading.

Who's the Party Deceiving
Ma Xiaoming, former Shanxi Provincial TV Station journalist told Epoch Times journalist, "I have heard about TV inserted content many times, most of them are information about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, Quit the CCP and Falun Gong truth information. The insert has become a well known story, but the regime still says that it's a 'State Secret,' it wants to deceive people, but actually it's deceiving itself."

Ma also commented that as usual, the regime will definitely pretend nothing happened on the surface and investigate tightly behind the scenes, it shows the regime is very unconfident and terrified.

Growing Numbers Quit the Party
Regarding the incident, the Global Quit the CCP center, which facilitates the "Quit the CCP campaign" commented that it demonstrates more and more people sense the end of the communist regime is coming, and the center also reports more and more people have started to use their real names when registering with the center to quit the communist party and its affiliate organizations. China's Distorted Economic Structure Continues to Deteriorate Back

By Hu Shiaojian
Radio Free Asia
May 07, 2007

At the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) press conference in Beijing last month, Zhu Hongren, deputy director of the Bureau of Economic Operations, publicly recognized the over-heating of China's economic growth. His statements were confirmed by data from China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

For years, China's macroeconomic policy has focused on preventing an overheated economy.

According to the latest figures provided by the NBS, China's gross domestic product (GDP) continues to grow. Over 5 trillion yuan (approximately US$ 648 billion) was reported for the first quarter of this year. This represents an 11.1 per cent raise in the GDP, which is 0.7 per cent higher than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, inflation is increasing and becoming a threat to the Chinese people as China's consumer price index (CPI) rose 3.3 per cent in March over last year.

At the beginning of 2007, the Chinese government was determined to focus on controlling the trade surplus. However, exports grew by as much as 27.8 per cent in the first quarter. The foreign trade surplus reached as much as US$ 46.4 billion, which forced, the Central Bank to release more yuan to the market, which eventually counterbalanced the monetary policy to prevent China's economy from overheating. This will no doubt put more international pressure on RMB appreciation.

Controlling the scale of investment in fixed assets was another macro-economic target. However, the fixed-asset investments accounted for over 35 per cent of the GDP for the first quarter of this year. This represents an increase of 23.7 per cent over the same period last year.

Further analysis of this increase demonstrates some notable features. First, urban investment growth rate was much higher than rural area investment growth rate. Second, the growth rate of real estate development was much higher than other investment growth rates. Third, the processing industry investment growth rate was much higher than investment in agriculture or the service sector. These clearly show lack of improvement in the Chinese economic structure. The lagging of service sector development in China will continue to increase the pressure on energy, resources, the environment, unemployment, and so forth.

Meanwhile, the Central Bank has failed to effectively control bad debt losses.

In addition, the undervalued RMB and ignoring of environmental pollution have in fact artificially depressed industrial production costs. Back

Former Beijing University Official Publicly Withdraws from Communist Youth League

May 05, 2007

Wan Yaoqiu, former director of the administration office of the Department of Biology, Beijing University, announced his withdrawal from the Communist Youth League (CYL) during an interview with The Epoch Times on May 3, 2007.

Mr. Wan, 76 years old, now lives in Beijing. In 1956, he was a teacher in the Department of Biology of Beijing University and was labeled a "rightist" during the Anti-Rightist Movement initiated in 1957 by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). His reputation was restored in 1978 after which he returned to Beijing University. When he retired in 1991, he was the director of the administrative office in the Department of Biology.

On March 5, 2007, Wan and 60 other former "rightists" wrote a joint letter to the CCP, requesting a complete negation of the Anti-Rightist Movement and asking for compensation for both spiritual and economical losses. On April 6, Wan attended a gathering of 30 "rightists" in Beijing, which attracted a lot of attention.

Wan's Announcement to Withdraw from the Communist Youth League

"I was instilled with communism when I was young and I thought the ideology of communism was good and stood for the happiness of people, so I joined the CYL. My experience and observations over the past tens of years, particularly, witnessing the bloody past of the CCP during the Anti-Rightists Movement, the Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen Square Massacre and the persecution of Falun Gong, changed my opinion of the CCP entirely. In the past year, I realized that the CCP is in fact a cult that has committed countless crimes.

Encouraging Others by Using His Real Name
When Wan was advised to choose a pseudo-name to quit, he emphasized repeatedly that he must use his real name. He said, "Using my real name not only frees myself, but also sets an example for others and will encourage them."

Many Veteran CCP Members Share My Viewpoint

Wan revealed that, "many veteran CCP members and officials I know have the same opinion as I have. But they are afraid of being harassed if they express their opinion publicly. I have many friends like that. Many of them have read The Nine Commentaries and they all agree with the viewpoints of the book." Back

The Psychological Obstacles in Disintegrating the Communist Party Culture Back

By Yang Jingduan
Special to The Epoch Times
May 07, 2007

On April 1, 2007, co-hosted by Broad Press Inc. and The Epoch Times newspaper, the second "Disintegrate Party Culture Seminar" was held at the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association in New York.

Yang Jingduan stated that I do not know much about politics. However, I felt that I had to come attend this seminar today because I am driven by a sense of urgency. Nowadays when chatting with my friends, oftentimes they will say that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is going downhill, and that nobody believes in communism anymore. Even common folks would scold the CCP as soon as it is mentioned. The Party Culture seems to have become less obvious.

I started to think about this issue and have begun examining it. Recently I have discovered a phenomenon: in China—no matter how the CCP brags about itself, people won't take it seriously. Then what does it do now? It has learned to become sophisticated, and packed its culture into something traditional. It has developed some shows in the traditional form, and plans to run Confucius Institutes around the world.

People would ponder: Why isn't there a single Confucius Institute inside China? Because the Party's goal is to secretly export its Party Culture around the world in the name of Confucius. This is something we must be aware of.

If you speak with various U.S. officials, including those from the State Department or business people who have businesses in China, they will all tell you that, no matter what you do in China, be it business, politics, or diplomacy, there is one taboo subject: Falun Gong, which is considered to be the number one enemy of China. Why? The fundamental reason is that Falun Gong is rooted in traditional Chinese culture and the CCP is aware of it.

According to the CCP's logic, if traditional Chinese culture is revived, then everyone would practice Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. Then who would lie and commit violent acts for the Party? Therefore it views the revival of traditional Chinese culture as the biggest threat. And this is why it strikes any group that promotes traditional Chinese culture and values at any cost, with no means being too extreme.

What Culture is in China Now?

I will discuss this topic from my professional angle, and it may give you some insights when you meet some people and encounter some things you cannot understand.

The first phenomenon: We have these kinds of people who have suffered severely traumatic experiences. How severe? To the point where he or she feels as though his life was being threatened. After such an occurrence, this person is always haunted by fear. After being in such a state for a long period of time, anything that reminds this person of these things will make him or her feel very unpleasant.

Stockholm Syndrome of the Chinese People

Yet there is one more phenomenon: Like Mr. Hu Ping just mentioned, you can take a survey from a good number of people—these are smart people who are well educated and well versed in culture. As soon as you start asking them questions, all that intelligence fizzles into thins air, and you are left with a high percentage of people who are satisfied with the CCP. You think they are lying? They are not. They are sincerely grateful to the Chinese Communist regime.

What is this Stockholm syndrome? It's actually a fairly common phenomenon. When your life is being violently threatened, or when you are being deceived, or when you have become isolated from the rest of the world, you develop this strange emotional tie to the one who is causing you harm.

It Is Critical to Disintegrate the Party Culture In Your Mind, Heart and Spirit

So what's the solution to all of this? Once you have a clear understanding of the problem, the solution should be very clear. First of all, we have to clearly recognize the true nature of the Party Culture—it abuses human lives; it has no respect for human lives; it is very evil. If you don't have a clear understanding of the Party Culture, then all your remedies will be merely superficial.

Secondly, we must relentlessly tell the truth to our people and lend them our support, because it is very difficult for them. This is why I especially admire the cleverness of the Withdrawal Campaign. Think about it: In China, quitting the party may mean losing your job, and perhaps even your life.

So from today on, don't be scared by how big and powerful the CCP appears right now. It is critical for you to disintegrate the Party Culture in your mind, in your heart, and in your spirit. So everyone here today can be a purveyor of the disintegration of the Party Culture. Back
